Why You Cannot Stick to Your Weight Loss Program
by Robert Kaufman
Many people are very similar to you. They are tired of constantly trying new exercises and diets that just will never work. Your motivated at first, but as time progresses you become tired of it, and you feel as if you have failed again.
Are you one of these people? Are you curious as to why you aren’t able to stick with your weight loss plan? You are not alone, many other people feel this way. Many factors can explain why you are not able to stick to your weight plan. I hope this article will help you do just that.
Maybe your program failed you simply because it wasn’t a good program. When you go on a radical diet, you are sure to fizzle out at some point because it’s just too off the wall to sustain. Eating nothing but cantaloupe, or doing some bizarre exercise routine for two hours a day, just isn’t possible long-term. You’ve got to choose an exercise and diet program you can stick with for your entire life if you want to keep weight off for good.
Another reason why you don’t stick to your weight loss program could be that you were lacking support from those around you. Perhaps family members didn’t back you up and pressured you to just take one bite of dessert with the rest of them. Maybe your friends didn’t respect your decision to start working out; perhaps they even made fun of you! Support is critical. Try joining a weight loss support group full of people just like you, or hiring a personal trainer to help you stay motivated.
You could have been dieting incorrectly while exercising too much, or even dieting without doing a single exercise routine. The results you expected didn’t happen and led you to quit what you were doing and loose focus. Both diet and exercise are a necessary combination when doing a workout program in order to lose weight. No matter what plan, program, or diet you choose, you must combine a balance of diet and exercise.
Another reason was that you expected results far too quickly. Diets take time to work, and your body may take even more time to adjust to your new diet before weight loss is noticed. Your body is resistant and will require you to use diet and exercise to steer it to shed pounds. Stick to a well designed program, and the results you want will be achieved.
Finally, you may not have achieved weight loss because of a lack of commitment. You have to start your plan without any doubts. You must be fully committed. Otherwise, you’ll find ways to cheat your diet and cheat yourself. The moment you think your diet is failing you off you go. Failure is not an option; stick to your guns and finish the fight! Forgive yourself for any past attempts that did not work out. Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
Ironically, the secret to weight loss is not actually a secret to anyone. We have always know what it is: a healthy diet and exercise are what will help us lose weight. There is no miracle way to get that perfect body. There is absolutely no “instant fat loss” cure. Pick a healthy workout that you enjoy and will maintain. Keep realistic goals and your diet will have you thin in no time.
