Great Exercises For Weight Loss
New Year’s resolutions have become a popular tradition each year. Many people resolve to do things like saving up to buy an expensive item, or to finally go back to school. One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to start working out and get back into shape.
If you decide to work out for you New Year’s resolution, that will help you to lose weight and build muscle. When you workout, your muscles begin to tear, which will help them grow bigger as they begin to heal. Whether you are doing cardiovascular exercises or weight training, you will be burning fat.
Different muscles will be exercised and used depending on the type of workout you choose. You’ll be burning calories no matter which way you choose though. As long as you are working out and burning more calories than you are consuming by eating, then you will begin to see good changes in your body.
If you are doing cardiovascular activities, your heart pumps faster which in turn, causes you to burn even more calories. Jogging, swimming, biking, and running are all great examples of cardio exercises. Your oxygen capacity is also boosted when you do cardio, which allows you to be active for a longer period of time without causing as much stress on your heart and lungs.
When you do weight training (otherwise known as strength training) you lift weights which cause your muscles to tear, only to be built right back up again and stronger to boot! Because people can see the effects from strength training, it is one of the most popular forms of working out. Your body will become more attractive and toned, and hey, you’ll get to burn quite a lot of calories while you are at it!
A great type of strength training is body resistance training. This is working out using only your body and gravity as resistance, rather than lifting dumbbells or free weights. Examples of body resistance training are push ups, jumping jacks and mountain climbers.
If you want to burn fat easily and fast, then do strength training. Muscle does weigh more than fat, and if you are looking to lose weight this may sound counterproductive but it’s not. By lifting weights and other types of strength training, you burn fat quickly, which balances out and make you more healthy and toned.
New Year’s eve or 4th of July and everywhere in between are all good times to start losing weight. You will feel better about yourself as well as have way more energy than you ever did before. Like the Nike commercial says, Just Do It!
