Commit These Mistakes And You Will Not Lose Weight
Gaining weight is not difficult for most people to do. As Jake La Matta in “Ragging Bull”, Robert DeNiro gained over fifty pounds. You almost don’t recognize him in the movie because of all the extra weight, what’s more is that he found it very difficult to lose the weight once he put it on.
Losing pounds should be as easy as gaining it. That would be nice. It’s simply reducing your calorie intake to lose the pounds, or is it?
1. Stay Committed
You have to be fully committed on any weight loss program. You have to follow through with whatever diet plan you choose.
Most diet plans are centered around a mix of certain foods that activate weight loss action, so it’s not just about watching calories, it’s a combination that the diet creates. You have to adhere to them for them to be effective.
Only your commitment to lose weight is what will ultimately affect your weight. If you are not committed, eventually you will cheat. Obviously this is a huge mistake.
If you cheat, you will not be losing weight. Cheating at dieting is only cheating on yourself. Once your resolve has been broken, you really are not on game plan any longer. Your commitment to lose weight needs to be heartfelt from deep within you. If you are trying to lose weight for someone else, the weight loss plan will probably fail you. You can only do this for yourself.
2. Importance of Support
If you do not have emotional support with your weight loss plan, this is a big mistake. Everyone needs the support of others. One of the main reasons that people stay committed and on track with their diets is because of others encouraging them and rooting for them to stay in the game. Misery loves company. Joining a good weight loss forum and finding others that are working out their own diets wouldn’t be a bad idea. The main idea is finding others to support your efforts.
3. Going to the Extreme
Overdoing your commitment would be taking it over the edge and this would be a big mistake. You will end up right where you started and you may cause more harm than good.
Most people fail when trying a starvation diet, its not health, so don’t starve yourself or you will end up at square one.
If your diet includes exercise, take it slowly, don’t overdo it. Exercise is excellent, but work up to jogging for ten miles, because your body will not be used to it.
You have to prepare mentally for your weight loss plan, so take enough time. Stay committed once you choose the diet right for you. You won’t see results immediately, so stay optimistic as it will take some time.
If you are not prepared, then get yourself mentally prepared before beginning your plan.
