Can Acai Berries Truly Be The Miracle Fruit?

Recent claims about the acai berry have been pretty astounding. While there is some scientific proof that has been tested on this fruit, it has still been advertised as one of the best nutritional finds ever and it has been touted as a miracle cure for everything from obesity to cancer.

Well the acai berry is extremely nutritious but it is just the latest discovery in a long line of extremely healthy superfoods. Superfoods range from blueberries to spinach and oranges to green tea. The list of superfoods goes on and on and there are many, many extremely healthy superfoods.

A healthy diet consists of a variety of healthy foods. We all need a healthy balance of carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats. Antioxidants help protect our bodies from free radical damage which can cause excessive aging, damage to our arteries and yes, even disease. When we improve our diets we improve our health and our longevity. But one fruit, not even the amazing acai berry can do it all. We must include a wholesome variety of healthful foods in our diet.

Your weight loss program will probably benefit from adding acai berry products but only because of the excellent nutrition you are providing your body not because the acai berry is a magical berry. However, if you want to lose weight you will also need to reduce your calorie intake and exercise more.

We can find everything we need for superior nutrition in nature. Nature gives us a multitude of extremely healthy foods in the form of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. This does not mean that we necessarily should all become vegans. There are many healthy diets that include some animal products and meats. It is probably smart to know where your food comes from, whether it is meat or fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

We were never meant to eat unnatural and manmade foods. Nature leaves clues. If the food you are eating won’t spoil within a certain amount of time then you probably shouldn’t be eating it. If bacteria won’t eat the food neither should humans. The acai berry is only grown in the Brazilian rainforest and it is so extremely perishable that it must be freeze-dried or frozen within 24 hours after it leaves the tree or the health benefits quickly spoil.

While it is not a miracle food the acai berry can still be an amazing addition to your healthful diet. The nutrients contained within this amazing berry can protect your body from damage from free radicals, which in turn will help prevent diseases. It will help your weight loss goals because of the superior nutritional advantages.

But the best way to get and keep great health through diet is to make sure that you are adding in a variety of many healthy foods including blueberries, spinach, salmon, walnuts, broccoli, tomatoes, green tea and of course, the list goes on. If you improve your diet all around you will also get the highest benefit from acai berry products due to the synergy of nutrients. Your health will improve in many ways.
